Just a sketch inspired by all the crazy talented character designers, story artists and 2d animators that I have a pleasure of working with at the SPA Studios in Madrid...

Halo 4 Spartan Ops batch#3
All the episodes are out now so I can post the rest of the images from that project that I would like to share.

You can watch the episodes here:
And here's a funny little thing. The guy pointed by the red arrows is me ;) I had my head scanned and I appear as various background characters in several places along the season, but this is the only episode where my face is not out of focus. The helmet covers my beard and makes me look like if I had a fancy moustache... ;)

Halo 4 Spartan Ops batch#1
Sooo, I spent last 9 months working for Axis Animation on Halo 4 Spartan Ops animated series. My main job was to determin colours and lighting for each scene/environment, but I also did some storyboards and mattes. But bofore Axis won the project they asked me to create some images for the pitch they were preparing. One of their ideas was to make a 2D motion comics, not a full 3D animation.
It was great to work with Axis again:)
The first image is what I came up with for the pitch and still my favorite painting that I did for the whole project.
Here are some early colour scripts and some more advanced colour keys. I'll be posting more in the coming weeks:)
And here's the first episode. You can find the rest of them in the same vimeo stream.

darkness
Here's a fairly quick painting inspired by a scene from the movie Red Dragon and mixed with my recent fascination with Hellboy (the comic books of course, not the movies;]). Also it's my very first painting done using a cintiq. Cool piece of equipment:)

characters
I'm still playing around with my little Sherlock Holmes project from time to time and here are some characters. The first two are probably gonna end up as Watson and Lestrade. I've been also looking for some different ways of rendering, hence two different approaches to Watson...

sherlock's apartment sketches
It's been a while since I've posted anything here, so I thought I'd share some sketches that I did quite a while ago when I had a privilage to be a mentee of Mike Yamada from Dreamworks. Unfortunately due to tons of work that I had at that time I didn't make the most out of this great opportunity and I produced only few scribbles under his supervision. I regret that deeply. But still Mike managed to plant some valuable ideas in my mind and I've been thinking a lot since that time about things like personal style, design etc. So those sketches are probably not really up to date with my current ideas, but I thought I'll post them just to show that I haven't forgotten this blog;)
